TheForestPatientlyWaits

my contribution for the 2011 glenlyon's sculpture show

the work wonders if humanity, as represented by the chair,
is imprisoned by nature, as represented by the tree branch,
or protected by it

  1. Your branch stirs a vestigial memory of a goanna, Petrus. Perhaps that spread-legged, tree climbing stance, and the spots?
Perhaps humanity is ignored by nature as it walks over it on its journey somewhere important? Or that could just be a reflection of my impression that humanity might not be the be-all and end-all, after all.
In any case, your work raises shivers.
